Occupy the Soul
Levi Nov 17, 2011

What will we do, once the new party becomes old regime?

The Occupy Movement has been growing leaps and bounds over the last few months.

I feel that for the first time in 50 years The United States is awakening to the idea that the American Dream is a myth. My international friends remark and I am one to agree; that finally American’s are paying attention to the political processes around them.

As the disparities between the wealthy and poor widen; the middle class shrinks; and our National Unemployment and Debt continue to rise. People are beginning to question the processes around them.

The will of the People has shown itself; but will things actually change?

The Arab Spring, precursor to the public political actions of the United States showed the power the populace has over the ruling elite. However in such a short period of time Tunisia and Egypt the first two nations to topple their Dictatorial governments are already dealing with religious wars, internal strife within the transitional governments, and even corruption.

REVOLUTION HAS AND ALWAYS WILL HAPPEN!

As Mao, Lenin, Washington, Gadafi, Chavez, and countless others have shown, they the leaders and their closet followers the elites of the regimes benefit the most. Yes; minor changes even a few major changes in terms of reform occur, but nothing lasts forever, the powers that be do begin to become too powerful, take too much or totally lose the ability to understand the needs of those most vulnerable. People cannot count on distant leaders to watch out for their concerns.

Nothing will change until the People themselves change.

Not until we undermine the system, or simply wrap the same politics up in different color bows (May that be Red, Green or Black) will we honestly see the change folks are battling for. Not until we alter our values and thoughts of success and happiness and have people showing personal responsibility of their votes or if they choose, representative leaders can the fights on the battlefields make a difference.

We cannot reinvent the wheel but we can make something else to move around
