FUN WITH THE FOOLS Mar 30, 2012

FUN WITH THE FOOLS At CARAVAN of CLOWNS!
Roaddawgz is very excited to be invited back to participate in a very special and spectacular evening! The annual event benefiting our generous, supportive community partners, Faithful Fools Ministry. We have been happy and hard at work creating a variety of decorations and sets for the exciting interactive entertainment and have been having a fabulous time in our creative workshops creating costumes to wear and share at the party! We will be assisting with the evening's decorating, Middle Eastern food service, henna tattooing and activities that will include: dress-up costume photo booth, Raffle, face painting, full dinner buffet and helping with the “Free Market” where items can be traded with no money exchanged, etc!!

Please check back for more photos from the event!

Saturday, March 31st, 2012
First Unitarian Church San Francisco
Tickets $50. More info on“Caravan of Clowns” at this year’s Oscard’s Feast. Together we will eat fine foods, trade magical wares and dance to music as we travel along the Silk Road.

People who journeyed along the historical ilk Road formed a bridge between east and west. There were craftspeople, scholars, entertainers, adventurers and emissaries who became channels of communication between peoples and places, and established dialogues between diverse peoples.

The movement of people not only engaged in trading goods but also shared art, poetry, religion, music, philosophy and technology, not so unlike the work and vision of Faithful Fools.

People who come to Faithful Fools, like those who traveled the Silk Road, come from many directions and are changed along the way. Honor and respect of one’s own and another’s personal journey are reflected in the poetry, art and conversation that is shared within our purple building on Hyde Street and moves with the people out into the streets beyond. Fellow travelers come together with strength and determination to navigate the increasingly rough road of finding resources for programs and the basic needs of food, housing and health care. Dialogue between friends and family members is often facilitated by Faithful Fools along the way. Street retreats with youth and adults in the Tenderloin and in other cities in the U.S. and Nicaragua encourage reflection on social needs within local communities and inspire people to personally act.

Fools Court San Francisco and Fools Court Managua provide safety in the middle of the night when someone knocks on the door seeking refuge from drugs or abuse.

They also each offer a place for the exchange of ideas and actions, or for people to live for periods of time and offer their talents in a spirit of service and learning.

Food of the Middle East and beyond then dress up and dance with the Caravan of Clowns.

We are grateful to be part of this journey and look forward to celebrating with people in person or in spirit.
